1,230 candidates hired at mega job mela

A mega job mela was conducted at Peddapuram, in which 29 companies hired 1,230 eligible candidates on the spot. Vikasa, the employment generation wing of the district administration, conducted the mela following initiation from Home Minister N. Chinarajappa, who was representing Peddapuram Assembly constituency in the Legislative Assembly.

Mr. Rajappa, who attended as special guest, said that his objective was to ensure 10,000 jobs to the youngsters in and around Peddapuram in the next four years and the proposed industrial development in the region would help the youth get suitable jobs.

East Godavari Collector H. Arun Kumar said that arrangements were in place to set up skill development centres in the district by spending Rs. 3 crore. Zilla Parishad Chairman Namana Rambabu and others were present.
