Modi asks all BJP MPs, MLAs to give details of bank accounts from Nov 8-Dec 31 to Amit Shah

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today asked all the BJP MPs and MLAs to give the details of their bank accounts to party chief Amit Shah by January 1 next year.

Sources in the BJP said Modi has asked all the party legislators in the states and Parliament to share their transaction details from November 8 (the day demonetisation was announced) to December 31, a day after the drive ends.

The directive to the BJP leaders was given at a Parliamentary Party meeting Modi attended today before Parliament met for another acrimonious day over demonetisation.

The PM described the move as a fight against black money and said it is for the welfare of poor, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar told reporters.

Modi also sought support from everyone to make India a digital and cashless economy. The Prime Minister wants to make the country a cashless society and sought everyone’s support, the minister said.
