Peter Mukerjea wants laptop, dry fruits and razor in prison
On Friday, Peter Mukerjea, an accused in the Sheena Bora murder case, filed three handwritten applications before the Special CBI court, in one of which he asked to be provided with a laptop because he wants to write his memoirs.
He also asked the court for permission to attend the wedding of his niece in Bengaluru, as well as a supply of dry fruits as he is on a diet, and a separate razor because heβs worried about contracting infections through the razor shared by all inmates.
“I want to write an autobiography and for that I want a laptop without Internet in the jail,β Peter told Judge HS Mahajan yesterday. If allowed, he would work on the laptop for four hours a day and then hand it back to jail authorities.
β(I am) 61 years old and suffering from occasional memory fatigue and (a) laptop will be of great help in continuing the work,β Peter said in the application. All the applications will be decided on December 14 and the court will hear arguments on December 19 about framing charges in the murder case.
At the last hearing, the court had granted prime accused Indrani Mukerjea permission to deposit demonetised currency notes worth Rs.50,000 in the bank through someone outside the jail. One Rs.500 note was found to be counterfeit.
