Pharmacist from Bapatla killed in US car crash
A 39-year-old pharmacist from Bapatla, Madhavi Chowdary Balineni, was killed in a car crash at Ocala in Florida, USA, on September 9.
According to information reaching here, the accident occurred at about 7.56 a.m. when Madhavi heading for work, had crossed over into a lane, which had oncoming traffic at the 5000 block of the Southwest State Road 200. Her car was hit by another oncoming vehicle.
She was pronounced dead shortly after being taken to a hospital.
Madhavi had left home after meeting her husband Trivikram, also a pharmacist, who had come home after his night shift.
Meanwhile, the news of Madhavi’s untimely death plunged her family into grief, at their Vivekananda Colony residence in Bapatla.
Her parents Balineni Sambasiva Rao and Seetha live with another relative identified as Venkateswarlu. Madhavi’s brother Vijay, who lives in Australia, also reached Bapatla on Friday afternoon.
Family members said Madhavi could have taken a U-turn to avoid a longer route but the decision proved fatal as she encountered oncoming traffic from the eastern direction. “We expect the post-mortem to be completed and the body will be flown here by Sunday.
My sons are in the USA and are helping our son-in-law cope with the tragedy,” said Mr. Venkateswarlu, Sambasiva Rao’s brother.
Madhavi a graduate in pharmacy had left for the USA in 2002 and married fellow pharmacist Trivikram in 2004. Since then, they had been living in Ocala, Florida. They have no children.
Family members said Madhavi and Trivikram, both devotees of Lord Krishna, had observed a fast during Janmashtami and Madhavi was reporting for work after a two-day break.
