Mozilla Firefox browser won’t support Windows Vista, XP from September 2017
Mozilla, developer of the popular Firefox web browser has announced that it would soon stop supporting old Windows OS versions.
The company, via a blogpost shared last week, revealed that Windows XP and Windows Vista will automatically be moved to Firefox Extended Support Release (ESR) around March 2017.
However, this doesn’t mean the end of Mozilla Firefox on these platforms. The company has mentioned in its blogpost that it will continue to provide security updates for Firefox releases on Windows XP and Windows Vista till September 2017.
Users of the two Windows OS’ don’t need to take any additional steps to receive these security updates. The company plans to reassess the number of Windows XP and Windows Vista users in mid-2017 and will then announce the final end-of-support date.
