MSRTC buses with ‘Jai Maharashtra’ logo flagged off from Mumbai
Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) on Friday launched buses with a logo containing the words ‘Jai Maharashtra’. The buses were flagged off from Mumbai central station to Belgaum in Karnataka.
This comes after amid the dispute between Maharashtra and the Karnataka governments over the use of slogan ‘Jai Maharashtra’.
Last week, Karnataka’s Urban Development Minister Roshan Baig had issued a diktat that anyone who chants ‘Jai Maharashtra’ will be stripped off their official post.
This didn’t go down well with many in Maharashtra, with state’s CM Devendra Fadnavis condemning the statement.
Following which, Maharashtra’s Transport Minister Diwakar Ratote announced that every state bus will carry the ‘Jai Maharashtra’ logo on it.
