‘Yoga, Kuchipudi will be introduced in schools soon’
Excise and BC Welfare Minister K. Ravindra on Wednesday said that the Andhra Pradesh government was planning to introduce yoga and Kuchipudi classical dance in school education.
Mr. Ravindra launched ‘Badi Pilustundi’ campaign here by handing over school admission certificates to the five students here. Addressing the gathering at the Hindu College, Mr. Ravindra added that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu would soon visit Machilipatnam to lay the foundation for a permanent building to Krishna University at Rudravaram.
Krishna District Education Officer A. Subba Reddy has said that textbooks have been issued to the three lakh students of all the government schools in time. The officials also focused on timely distribution of textbooks to Class X students before commencement of the academic year 2016-17. “A total of 22,000 children have been admitted to the anganwadi centres across the district since April.
We have presented special awards to the eligible 300 Class X candidates for their academic performance,” said Mr. Reddy.
During the ‘Badi Pilistundi’ campaign, officials have targeted to bring into the system all the students who were yet to be admitted to school. A rally was taken out in the town, creating awareness on education and need for sending girls to school. A huge gathering of students took part in the rally.
Senior Telugu Desam leader K. Bullaiah has appealed to the parents to prefer sending their children to government school.
