Anil Kapoor plays a Bhendi Bazar muslim in Rakesh Omprakash Mehra’s Fanay Khan
After working with Sonam Kapoor in Delhi 6 and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, and Sonam’s brother Harshvardhan in Mirzya, it’s time for Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra to work with the two young actors’ father Anil Kapoor.
Rakeysh and Anil get together for a satirical film Fanay Khan sent in the crowded business locality of Mumbai. Says Anil excitedly, “I play a Muslim from the Bhendi Bazar area. It is a colourful vibrant character with a specific look and attitude. Mehra and I are working on the dialogues, clothes and accessories. This is going to be one of my most challenging and entertaining roles.”
Anil says he waited long for this. “Mehra has worked with my daughter then my son. I am the last in the queue. Maybe the last would be the best.”
Anil discounts chances of working with his daughter and son in the near future. “If all three of us come together in one film it would become a war zone. We are three strong-headed individuals with antithetical opinions on how to act. Forget seeing eye to eye, we can’t even look into one camera together.”
