Telangana to conduct Eamcet-III on Sept. 11
The Telangana government now faces the dilemma of allowing the students accused in the Eamcet -II leakage to take the Eamcet-III to be held on September 11 with the JNTU Hyderabad Registrar, N. Yadaiah as the Convenor and the JNTUH Vice Chancellor, A. Venugopal Reddy as the Chairman.
The dilemma arises from the fact that the CID is yet to complete the probe and the charge-sheet is yet to be filed.
Even if the students, said to have benefited from the ‘leakage’ are named by the police, the charges have to be proved in the court.
Their inclusion is likely to be challenged in the court and the final decision will take a long time.
“It means, technically we cannot deny them an opportunity to appear for the exam or give admission if they secure a good rank,” an official explained.
Moreover, the police too cannot give the exact number of students involved in the leakage and arriving at a particular number so soon will be impossible, given the deeply entrenched scam.
“Police have expressed its helplessness on these issues,” a senior official said.
Panel meet on Aug. 6
The modalities of the test would be worked out at the CET Committee meeting to be held on August 6.
The meeting will discuss the legal issues related to the ‘beneficiaries’ and also if some merit students challenge the government’s decision to conduct Eamcet-III.
