Vidya Balan donates her award money of Rs. 5 lakhs to build toilets

The beautiful Vidya Balan, who has been the brand ambassador for national sanitation in India, has been actively involved in spreading mindfulness about cleanliness and the necessity for sanitation amenities in the country. Only last week, she was conferred with the ‘Woman Icon of the Year’ award and Rs. 5 lakhs, at an event, for her contribution to the cinema.

As per the news reports, Vidya Balan went onto donate the award money to ‘Swades Foundation’ which works towards building toilets in several rural parts of India. Needless to say that the team of the ‘Swades Foundation’ were extremely happy when they received a cheque worth Rs.5 lakhs from Vidya.
