Eggs thrown at Ramya’s car in Mangaluru

It was not a pleasant welcome for Ramya in Mangaluru as her car was pelted with eggs by protesters as it made its way from the airport to the city. The actress arrived at the airport around 4.45pm on Thursday and is one of the guests at the Mosaru Kudike celebrations near Kadri Shri Manjunatha Temple, which sees the participation of many Congress leaders.

Despite sufficient security arrangements, BJP leaders and party followers had gathered at the junction near the airport exit road.They had assured the cops that they would only be showing black flags to the actress. Since 4 pm they kept shouting slogans like “Down Down Ramya” , “Shame Shame Ramya” and “Go Back Ramya”.

A few had even gathered at the airport and shouted slogans there.As Ramya’s convoy neared the junction, protestors started throwing eggs at her car. Police were quick to act and detained the protesters. Meanwhile, it was learnt that minister UT Khader and his brother had made arrangements of Ramya’s arrival in Mangaluru.
