Amit Mishra under investigation for allegedly assaulting woman

A woman, a friend of cricketer Amit Mishra has alleged that he physically assaulted her last month. In a complaint registered with the Ashok Nagar police on 27th September, the woman has alleged that she was in Mishra’s room on 25th September when he walked in.The two had a fight during which Mishra allegedly assaulted her. The Ashok Nagar police have been investigating the case and have issued a notice to Mishra asking him to give his statements.

The alleged incident is said to have happened in a hotel in Bengaluru when the Indian team was stationed there for a preparatory camp ahead of the South Africa series. An FIR has been filed against Mishra and action will be taken only after further investigation.

Mishra is a part of the Indian team playing against South Africa currently. They are scheduled to play two ODIs in Chennai and Mumbai before the start of the Tests.
