Anil Kapoor receives notice from Western Railway over 24 promotions

Anil Kapoor was seen promoting his upcoming series ’24’ at Churchgate platform where he boarded a local train to Borivali at 12.24 pm. The actor, who had obviously invited the media for the same, was snapped whilst hanging out of the train along with other commuters and this has sort of irked Western Railways.

In fact, the western railway authorities have sent a notice to The Market Men Consumer and Events PVT LTD who organized the promo shoot. Revealing details of the same was Anand Vijay Jha, Senior Divisional Security Commissioner, Western Railway, Mumbai Central Division who stated that the agency failed to abide by the safety terms and conditions prescribed during shoots and has been issued a warning notice for the same.

Condemning the act was Shailesh Goel, former member of Indian Railway Users Consultative Council who added that such stunts by stars shouldn’t be promoted as not only does it send a wrong message but the western railway is already facing problems due to youngsters attempting dangerous stunts whilst travelling. From what we hear, Anand Vijay Jha has even requested Anil Kapoor to turn brand ambassador for western railways and discourage the act of travelling on footboards and trying out dangerous stunts.

Interestingly, the number of deaths and accidents caused by the over-crowded trains has been increasing with each passing day and the sight of youngsters and even middle aged people travelling on footboards is a visual that one often gets to see almost every day while travelling in this public mode of transport, something that Railway authorities themselves have failed to counter.
