“Lee is one of the most admired cricketers in the world. Glad to hear he is coming on the sets of our show. I have heard that he plays the guitar beautifully, so I am hoping to hear him strum for me,” Saumya Tandon, who plays Anita in the show, said in a statement.
Lee will shoot for the special episode on Wednesday, 27 July, along with his co-star Tannishtha Chatterjee, of Angry Indian Goddesses fame. The sequence will have the bowler-turned-actor playing cricket with the cast.
The show, which is aired on &TV, also features Aashif Sheikh, Shubhangi Atre and Rohitash Gaud.
A report in The Times of India says that Brett Lee, who is a fan of Shah Rukh Khan, wants the superstar to be present at his debut film’s screening. He will also be inviting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.
Directed by Australia-based Anupam Sharma, UnIndian also stars Gulshan Grover, Supriya Pathak and Nicholas Brown among others. The film narrates the struggles that an Australian teacher and an Indian single mother face in making their family and their community accept their relationship.
