BV Sudhakara Rao appointed as Director General of Post offices

B.V.Sudhakara Rao on Friday assumed charge as the new Director General of Postal Services.

Sudhakara Rao is the 32nd Director General of Postal services hails from Kammapalem of Nellore district. He is the first Telugu person to be appointed to the top post.

Boyapati Venkata Sudhakara Rao joined Indian Postal Services in 1981 joined as Manager of AP Cooperative Bank immediately after his post graduation and got selected for Indian Postal Services.

He worked in various capacities in Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and as Post Master general of Vijayawada and Kurnool regions. He revived the postal recruitment which was stalled for ten years after he became the Chief Post Master General.
