Chief Minister Jayalalithaa’s assets worth Rs. 113.72 crore

AIADMK general secretary Jayalalithaa and DMK president M. Karunanidhi were among the 778 candidates who filed their nominations on Monday for the May 16 Assembly polls.

Ms. Jayalalithaa, surrounded by party seniors and ministers, filed her nomination at R. K. Nagar, post noon.

At Tiruvarur, M. Karunanidhi made a trip from his home in Tirukuvalai to the Tiruvarur Revenue Divisional office along with family members and party colleagues to file his nomination.

According to the affidavits, Ms. Jayalalithaa’s assets are worth Rs 113.72 crore and that of Mr. Karunanidhi alone is Rs 13.92 crore. He has only Rs 50,000 cash in hand. (The assets of his wives have not been accounted here.)
