CPI (M), BJP party offices attacked in Bengal
A party office of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) was attacked in Kolkata while a party office of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was targeted in West Bengal Jhargram district. The attacks were reported late on Tuesday evening.
CPI (M) supporters said that the attack at Surya Sen Street, party office in Kolkata occurred when supporters Students’ Federation of India (SFI) had gathered to to pay homage to a school teacher and social activist Barun Biswas, who was killed in July, 2012.
“Suddenly about 30 TMC cadres barged into the office and tried to disrupt the event. They were driven out by our workers,” Sangram Chatterjee, CPI(M) Kolkata district Committee member told Media.
