Indian-Americans donate $60,000 to kin of slain Dallas police officers

The Indian-American community in Dallas has donated $60,000 to the family members of the police officers killed by a sniper during a recent protest against the fatal police shootings of black men.

A cheque of $60,000 was presented to Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings and Executive Assistant to Dallas Police Chief David Pughes, by a group of Indian-American community leaders led by A K Mago, founding chair of the US India Chamber of Commerce in Dallas.

“We appreciate the protection you give us. We wanted to recognise what you do for us every day,” Mago was quoted as saying by the local Dallas Morning News.
