Ponnam files cheating complaint against KCR
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has warned the Opposition parties that he would file defamation and criminal cases if the parties make false allegations against the TRS government, former Karimnagar MP Ponnam Prabhakar has filed a complaint against the Chief Minister with the police for ‘cheating’ the people of Telangana region in general and Karimnagar district, in particular.
The Chief Minister, during his maiden visit to Karimnagar town on August 5, 2014 after attaining power, had announced several sops to the people of the district for sustaining the Telangana Statehood movement throughout. Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao announced that Karimnagar town would be transformed on the lines of London and New York cities and a garden akin to Brindavan Gardens of Mysore would be developed on the shores of LMD reservoir, sanction of government medical college in Karimnagar and many more.
Responding to the warning given by the Chief Minister that he would register cases against the parties for raising false allegations against the government, the former Karimnagar MP went ahead and lodged a cheating case against the Chief Minister.
In the complaint, Mr. Prabhakar reminded that the Chief Minister promised job to each household in Telangana State, three acres of land to the Dalits, double bedroom houses to eligible beneficiaries, relief and rehabilitation to the land oustees of Mid-Manair Dam and Sripada Yellampalli projects etc. They also stated that the Chief Minister promised upgradation of government headquarters in Karimnagar town on the lines of NIMS hospital and other promises.
The former MP along with the Congress party leaders Karra Rajashekhar, Gandhe Madhavi and others went in a procession from Kala Bharathi to Karimnagar one town police station and lodged a compliant against the Chief Minister. They submitted the complaint to the Karimnagar one town inspector Vijayasaradhi and appealed him to register cheating case against the Chief Minister.
