Reliance Jio 4G launch – All voice calls will be free
Reliance Industries Limited Chairman Mukesh Ambani today on Wednesday launched Reliance Jio 4G services to the nation.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that it is an effort to fulfil the Digital India dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Ambani said that that Reliance Jio services have been put on trial run for a few months before being commercially launched. Reliance Jio services are free for the first 90 days and along with high speed Internet.
From September 5, everyone will be able to access the service which will be free till end of the year. Voice call will never be charged on Jio service. The data rats are also the cheapest in the world. He announced the tariffs starting from Rs.50 per GB or 5 paise per MB. The applications are also will be free till the end of 2017.
With the announcement Telecom operators like Airtel, Idea etc., have come down in the day’s trading drastically.
Tariff rates was based on three pillars. One, the customer should pay only voice or data, two, data must be affordable and the third and final is pricing structure should be simple.
To start with Reliance Jio data packs will start for as low as 5 paise per MB adding up to Rs 50 for 1GB, a fraction of the cheapest data plan in India at the moment. Reliance Jio will offer data packs ranging from Small (S) to XXXL. The small plan starts at Rs 149 for 0.3GB data along with access to 100 SMSes. There’s a Medium pack which comes at Rs 499.

The Large, XL, XXL and XXXL 4G packs are priced at Rs 999, Rs 1,499, Rs 2,499, Rs 3,999 and Rs 4,999, respectively. The Reliance Jio data packs give users an access to free voice calls.
