Chennai-headquartered ICT solutions provider Sify Technologies on Saturday announced that it will set up its largest global delivery centre (GDC) in partnership with Japanese ICT major Fujitsu Limited in the city.

The company has acquired 1.5 acres in the Financial District and will be pumping in $20 million in the first phase of the project, Sify Technologies chief executive officer (CEO) Kamal Nath said here.

The project will be completed in three phases, spread over four years. In the first phase, the GDC will lead to a generation of over 1,000 jobs, while the total number of jobs created over four years will be 3,000.

“The GDC, spread over 2 lakh sq ft, will help us serve global clients. Currently, over 90% of our revenues come from India, but by 2020 we are targeting 50% of revenues from global clients. In September 2015, Sify had announced a global partnership with Fujitsu Limited to collaborate on providing ICT solutions. We are collaborating to strengthen global approaches to developing new customers and markets and to jointly win multi-regional opportunities, starting with the North American market,” Nath explained.

The GDC will focus on supporting the partnership through the development of solutions for the ‘Third Platform’ (also known as ‘SMAC’ -social, mobile, analytics and cloud platform). In India, the company has over 4,000 customers, while the number of global clients stands at 34. The company logged revenues of Rs 1,250 crore last fiscal and is expecting a growth in the range of 22-25% this fiscal, he added.
