Supreme Court reprieve for TDP president
Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has got the reprieve from the Hyderabad High Court in the cash-for-vote case.
The High Court on Friday stayed the orders given by the ACB Court asking for re-investigation into the cash-for-vote case, taking into consideration the audio tapes having the reported conversation of Naidu with nominated MLA Elvin Stephenson seeking the latter’s support to the TDP nominee in the MLC elections in June 2015.
The High Court questioned the propriety of the ACB court in allowing the memo filed by an Andhra MLA from YSR Congress party Alla Ramakrishna Reddy. It directed the respondents to file the counter before September 29.
