TN records 92.1% pass in Plus Two exams
The results of Plus Two examination conducted by Tamil Nadu was released on Friday, and like every year the girls have outperformed the boys.
The overall pass percentage was 92.1%, a marginal increase of 0.7% from last year. While the pass percentage for girls was 94.5%, it was 89.3% for boys.
A total of 8.93 lakh students appeared for the examination through schools.
With 97.85%, Virudhunagar district recorded the highest pass percentage.
A day before the announcement of Plus Two results, the School Education Department decided to end the practice of ranking students at the State and district levels in Plus Two and SSLC exams with a view to providing relief to students going through high stress levels.
The Department, however, released the details of number of centums scored in each subject. Like last year, none bagged centum in languages.
A total of 187 students were awarded centum in physics, as opposed to just five last year.
Commerce and economics subjects saw more centums, 8301 and 1717 respectively.
