Twitter suspends its CEO Jack Dorsey’s account

Microblogging website yesterday briefly suspended its CEO and co-founder Jack Dorsey’s account. Dorsey, who’s Twitter handle is @jack, was removed around 9PM ET.

The account was reinstated some 15 minutes later. Speculations suggest that Dorsey’s account may have been a target of hacking attack and the company may have preemptively suspended it to avoid any public embarrassment.

Dorsey, however, claimed that the suspension was the result of an “internal mistake”. In a tweet, he wrote, “just setting up my twttr…again (account suspension was an internal mistake).” The words, “just setting up my twttr”, referred to the first tweet sent by him ten years ago, in the year 2006.
