Welcome Back box-office: The film earns Rs 50.5 crore in 3 days; second highest weekend of 2015
The film starring Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar, Paresh Rawal from the first part, along with John Abraham, Shruti Haasan, Naseeruddin Shah and Dimple Kapadia this time, has earned approximately Rs 14.25 crore on day one. According to boxofficeindia.com, the business is very similar to that of ABCD 2 which holds the record of the second biggest opening of the year so far, having collected Rs 14.25 crore on day one and 16.75 on its second day.
Boxofficeindia.com further states that the business could have been higher but around 300 digital prints could not be uploaded at respective cinemas. Nevertheless, for a non-holiday opening day, the film has done quite encouraging business.
The film continued a steady run at the box-office on day 3 when it collected Rs 19.5 crore, thereby taking the first weekend collection to Rs 50.5 crore. This makes Welcome Back the second highest weekend of the year (after Bajrangi Bhaijaan), beating the likes of films likeBrothers (Rs 47.42 crore) and ABCD 2 (46.16 crore). Early estimates indicate that the business on Monday is strong enough and the film can declared as a HIT.
Even in the overseas territory, the film has earned in the range of $ 3 million, thereby taking its worldwide gross collections to Rs 90 crore. The business is best in the Gulf territory.
