World Super Series Finals: PV Sindhu beats Carolina Marin to enter semi-finals

India’s PV Sindhu beat Spain’s Carolina Marin 21-17 in her third match of the BWF World Super Series Final in Dubai on Friday. It was also the must-win match for PV Sindhu as she lost her last match against China’s Sun Yu on Thursday and a loss to Marin would have ended her road in the ongoing World Super Series Final.

In a much-awaited contest, Sindhu came up trumps against the Olympic champion Marin, who had ruined her gold medal dream at Rio in August. The Indian pulled off a vigorous performance to knock-out Marin 21-17 21-13 in a hard-fought clash that lasted 46 minutes.
