4-year-old girl sexually assaulted, killed in Telangana

In a gruesome incident, a four-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted and killed by a 30-year-old man in Damerakunta village of Kataram mandal on Karimnagar District of Telangana on Saturday night.

Kataram Inspector Sadan Kumar said that four-year-old daughter of Homeguard Rajaswamy, working in Kataram police station, went to school on Saturday and did not return till late in the evening. The parents of the girl searched for her till night and grew suspicious on their neighbour Jakkula Venkat Swamy (30) and searched their house in the early hours of Sunday.

The parents found the girl dead and kept under a wooden basket. The girl was found with injuries on her private parts and was throttled to death. The police visited the village and shifted the body to Godavarikhani area hospital for post-mortem.

The accused Venkatswamy, who is married and has two children, is absconding. The police have launched a manhunt to nab the accused.
