Uthappa, Mithun left out of Karnataka squad for T20s
The experienced duo of Robin Uthappa and Abhimanyu Mithun was left out from the Karnataka squad for the upcoming Twenty20 zonal tournament due to injuries. KL Rahul and Manish Pandey, who are part of the Indian squad to face England in a three-match T20I series, weren’t considered for the tournament to be held from January 29 to February 6 in Chennai.
“Both Uthappa and Mithun are not fit. They were hence not considered for selection,” Raghuram Bhat, chairman of the state senior selection committee said. “Pradeep has been impressive in the KSCA T20 tournament. Some IPL teams have had a close look at him too,” he added.
Karnataka take on Tamil Nadu in their opening game on January 29, followed by matches against Kerala (January 30), Andhra (January 31), Hyderabad (February 2) and Goa (February 3).
