Kumble recommends Joshi for Bangladesh spin job

Former India left-arm spinner Sunil Joshi has been approached by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to take up the role of their spin consultant to help groom the likes of young spinners Mehedi Hasan Miraz, Taijul Islam and the next pool of slow bowlers.

In fact, Joshi is currently in Hyderabad to have elaborate discussions with BCB president Nazmul Hasan Papon and Chief of Cricket Operations Akram Khan. It is still not known whether it will be a short term assignment or a long-term deal as Bangladesh are supposed to play a number of Test matches including a series in Sri Lanka.

Sources claim the BCB officials sought Anil Kumble’s suggestion on helping them find a candidate for the job, in response to which, he had suggested Joshi, who is right now involved with the senior Assam side.
