Vijay Hazare Trophy: Dhoni’s ton helps Jharkhand open account
Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s maiden List A century for Jharkhand paved their way for a massive 78-run win over Chhattisgarh. Jharkhand were reeling at 57 for 6 before the former India captain pulled off a sensational resurrection act with a 107-ball 129.
He lifted his team to 243 for 9 with a 151-run stand with Shahbaz Nadeem (30) and give them a challenging total. Already deflated by Dhoni’s effort, there was no fight from the Chhattisgarh camp as they folded for 165.
Amandeep Khare scored 22 while Mohammad Kaif chipped in with 23 as Chhattisgarh started their maiden Vijay Hazare campaign with a loss. Jharkhand, on the other hand, bounced back from their five-run loss against Karnataka on Saturday.
