Two Kannada TV actors Rachana Gowda and Jeevan Suresh killed in accident

Two Kannada TV serial artistes were killed and four others injured when the SUV they are travelling in lost control and collided with a stationary truck parked on the road-side on the outskirt of the city in the early hours of Thursday.

The deceased have been identified as Rachana Gowda (23), a resident of R.R. Nagar, who has played lead roles in many Kannada serials and Jeevan Suresh (25), resident of Ashok Nagar.

The injured are: B.S. Ranjith, Uttam Honnesh, Karthik and Erick. They have been admitted to various hospitals. They were the co-stars of the deceased.

According to the police, the group were heading to Kukke Subramanya temple to celebrate Karthik’s birthday.

They started from R.R. Nagar around 12 a.m. and reached Solur toll gate around 2 a.m. Jeevan, who was driving the SUV, lost control and rammed the vehicle into a truck parked on the roadside. In the impact, Rachana, who was sitting next to Suresh, was killed on the spot. Jeevan was rushed to the hospital, but was declared as dead on arrival.

The SUV was completely mangled in the accident. The Kudur police have taken up a case and are investigating.
