Ryan International School gives suspended Principal teaching position

The Ryan International School principal who was suspended after a 7-year-old boy was murdered on school premises, was this week appointed teacher at another branch of the school, much to the consternation of the boy’s father.
Neerja Batra, who was suspended from the Bhondsi (Gurugram) branch after Class II student Pradhyumn Thakur was found murdered on campus, joined the school’s Sector-40 branch in Gurugram as a teacher. She had been suspended for negligence after a fusillade of intense protests by parents.

Pradhyumn’s father Varun Thakur reacted to the development with disbelief, calling the appointment “a risk to the security and safety of students,” ANI reported.

“How can you reinstate the principal who failed to fulfill her responsibility? What is the meaning of suspension then,” Thakur charged. “How can you expect her (Neerja Batra) to fulfill her responsibilities as a teacher? It’s a risk to the security and safety of students.”

Seven-year-old Pradhyumn was on September 8 found murdered in the school’s bathroom. Ashok Kumar, a school bus conductor, was arrested for allegedly murdering the boy.

The school remained shut for 10 days after the incident, and reopened only on September 18.
