LG launches Android flip phone Wine Smart globally
NEW DELHI: South Korean electronics giant LG has launched the global version of its recently announced flip phone, LG Wine Smart.
The Android-based smartphone will make its international debut later this month in countries including France, Italy, Poland, Spain, Kazakhstan and Japan, the company announced.
The phone was launched as LG Gentle in South Korea, earlier this month.
The all-new LG Gentle runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop and has a 3.2-inch LCD touchscreen (320x480p) display.
Powered by a 1.1GHz quad-core processor and 1GB RAM, the phone comes with 4GB of internal storage. Users can also install a microSD card for more storage.
The smartphone packs a 1,700mAh battery battery and comes with 3MP rear camera and 0.3MP front camera. The connectivity features of the smartphone include 3G, 4G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and USB-OTG connectivity.
Commenting on the launch, Chris Yie, vice president and head of marketing communications for LG Mobile Communications Company said, “Our goal with LG Wine Smart was to create a smartphone that fans of flip phones could embrace. Consumers shouldn’t have to miss out on the smartphone revolution because they prefer a particular phone design over another. With LG Wine Smart, they won’t have to.”
