Maruti Suzuki to launch Vitara Brezza on March 8
The 2016 Auto Expo last month, the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza has been the subject of intense fascination with enthusiasts and potential car buyers ever since. And now, the first compact SUV offering from India’s largest car manufacturer has a launch date: 8th March 2016. There has been a lot of confusion over the launch date, which earlier was said to be March 21, but now has been fixed as March 8.
To begin with, Maruti Suzuki will be launching the Vitara Brezza only with a diesel engine: a 1.3-litre 4-cylinder DDiS 200 affair that makes 90PS of power and 200Nm of torque. Mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, this is a unit that has already proven its mettle in other Maruti Suzuki cars like the Ertiga, S-Cross and the Ciaz. And, like the Ertiga and the Ciaz, Maruti Suzuki is also expected to bring in the Vitara Brezza with the new SHVS system.
Maruti Suzuki is also loading the Vitara Brezza with a long list of features. ABS and airbags are standard, as are projector headlamps, daytime running lights, automatic headlamps, scuff plates up front, and contrast-coloured roof and ORVMs. Like the S-Cross and the Baleno, the Vitara Brezza too will come with a touchscreen infotainment system that features Apple CarPlay, reverse camera, button start, keyless entry and more. When launched, the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza will go against the likes of theĀ Mahindra TUV300. Expect it to be priced around Rs 6 lakh.
