Emraan Hashmi’s mother Maherah Hashmi dies of cancer

Emraan Hashmi’s mother Maherah Hashmi passed away on March 11 at the Hinduja hospital in Mumbai. Maherah was the sister-in-law of Mukesh and Mahesh Bhatt. “She was suffering from cancer,” Mukesh Bhatt told PTI.

“Emraan boarded a flight from Romania this morning where he’s shooting for Raaz 4. He is on flight right now and doesn’t know the sad news yet. He should be here by 2 am,” added Bhatt. The last rites are said to performed on Sunday (March 13).

Earlier, Emraan’s four-year-old son Ayan was also detected with cancer. Emraan has penned his struggle around his son Ayan’s cancer treatment in a book titled The Kiss of Life: How A Superhero and My Son Defeated Cancer.

On the work front, Emraan Hashmi is currently working on Mohammad Azharuddin’s biopic Azhar and the fourth Installment of Raaz series.
