Dia Mirza to make her TV debut with a travel show
Bollywood beauty Dia Mirza is all set to make her small screen debut with a travel show. Titled Ganga The Soul of India, the show will explore some of the most beautiful locations in India.
The actress has been shooting for the show in Varanasi for the past few months and is pretty excited about the show as it has given her an opportunity to grow and learn.
“Why would anyone deny themselves the opportunity to grow, learn and have fun? I am blessed to be doing work that I love and also earn a living,” the actress told The Times Of India.
Dia, who’s been away from the silver screen for quite sometime now, has been actively involved in environment conservation and other social issues.
Recently, she was trolled on Twitter for her controversial tweet on Holi. “The irony of the times we live in: farmers commit suicide due to drought and people waste water to ‘play’ #Holi.Go ahead call me anti-Hindu,” Dia had tweeted.
After the backlash, she apologised for the tweet and clarified that she did not intend to hurt anyone’s sentiment. In an official statement on her official Facebook page she stated that she did not intend to hurt anybody’s sentiments and that she only wanted people play Holi with dry colours keeping in mind the water shortage in Maharashtra.
