Christians take out rally against church attack

Thousands of members of the Christian community including religious leaders carried out a silent protest march from Bishop Sargent School to Tomlinson Church in Tumakuru city on Monday condemning the petrol bomb attack on Tomlinson Church. They urged the State government to arrest the culprit and to provide protection to their community.

Head of Church of South India of Central Zone, Samuel B. Pujari said that for the past 200 years, such an incident has not happened.

Educational institutions including schools and colleges in the district coming under CSI were closed as part of the protest.

Members of CSI and Catholics from Chitradurga, Davangere, Gowribidanur, Doddaballapura, KGF, Chintamani, Chennapatna, and Ramanagaram participated in the protest march. They submitted a memorandum to the Additional Deputy Commissioner and ended their march at Tomlinson Church.
