Sania Mirza-Martina Hingis Enter 3rd Round of Cincinnati Masters
Top seeded doubles pair of Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis beat Julia Goerges of Germany and Klaudia Jans-Ignack of Poland 7-6 (3), 6-4 to win their second round match in the Cincinnati Masters on Wednesday.
The Indo-Swiss pair clinched the set 7-6 (7-3) after being level at 3-3 during the tie-breaker.
Julia Goerges and Klaudia Jans-Ignack established a good 3-0 lead in the second set after breaking them in the second game. Sania-Martina then won three games in a row to make it 3-all.
The top seeds broke Julia and Klaudia again to make it 5-4. They sealed the win by holding their serve to win the set 6-4 and the match in one hour and 21 minutes.
Sania-Martina won six break points out of 12 while their opponents won 5 out of 8.
