Aamir Khan’s Dangal becomes fifth highest grossing non-English film in cinematic history
Aamir Khan’s Dangal got a fresh lease of life, with its release in China. The film has raked in more than Rs 1000 crore in China alone, and has now entered a prestigious club. Dangal has become the fifth highest grossing non-English language film in cinematic history, according to a report in Forbes.
Dangal is only behind two Chinese films, a French film and a Japanese film, and the fifth non-English film to cross $300 million at the worldwide box office. Given that it is still running to packed houses in China, it may soon overtake the entry above it, Japanese film Your Name, which has collected $354 million. Dangal currently stands at $301 million (Rs 1930 crore).

- The Intouchables (France): $427 million
- Monster Hunt (China): $386 million
- Your Name (Japan): $354 million
