Andhra MP’s son vandalises Karnataka Bagepalli tollgate
The son of an MP from Andhra Pradesh and his associates allegedly vandalised the tollgate at Bagepalli in Chikkaballapur district and attacked the staff for asking the toll fee on Monday.
Ambarish, son of Hindupur MP Nimmal Kristappa, and his associates have been accused of creating havoc at the toll plaza while they were proceeding to Bengaluru from Andhra Pradesh in the morning. When the toll staff asked for the toll fee of ₹ 85, Mr. Ambarish refused to pay it and tried to move forward by breaking the toll barrier. Mr. Ambarish argued that he need not pay the toll fee as he is the son of a MP.
However the staff insisted on payment of fee. “Only MPs have concession, not their relatives”, they argued. Ambarish and his friends then got furious and ransacked the cabin damaging the glass. They also manhandled the staff of the toll plaza.
While toll plaza staff has filed a complaint with the Bagepalli police about the incident, Ambarish filed a counter-complaint against the toll staff.
