Anurag Thakur part of ICC’s finance committee
The International Cricket Council seemed to have mend fences with the BCCI as president Anurag Thakur is now officially a part of the powerful Finance & Commercial Affairs after completion of its board meeting in Cape Town on Friday.
The F&CA wing is arguably one of the most powerful decision making sub-committee of ICC as all the revenue related financial aspects are passed through this committee.
The BCCI had raised objections about not having it’s representative in F&CA committee and senior officials in the board termed it as a humiliation with Shashank Manohar being chairman of global body.
BCCI had also raised objections about the proposed budget for next year’s Champions Trophy and board felt that their absence in F&CA has been a reason for it.
A BCCI source who is aware of the rules said that moment Thakur was made chairman of the Development Committee of ICC, he automatically became part of F&CA committee.
The rule states that since Anurag has been made Chairman Development Committee, he is also member of the F&CA, Executive Committee (ExCo) and Governing Committee, the source said.
