Bollywood movie “Neerja” declared tax free in Maharashtra
It hasn’t been a week yet since the release of the Sonam Kapoor starrer Neerja that was directed by Ram Madhvani, but the film has been doing really well at the box office. Now we hear that the Maharashtra government has declared the film as tax free in the state.
Tweeting about the same Sonam Kapoor posted, “A big Thank You to the Government of Maharashtra for making #Neerja tax free with immediate effect. Humbled.” Later adding an image of Sonam, Devendra Fadnavis and Poonam Mahajan the film’s producer Atul Kasbekar posted, “The dynamic duo that made #Neerja tax free in #Maharashtra @Dev_Fadnavis @poonam_mahajan Thank U Again”.
As for the film, Neerja that tells the story of the PanAM purser Neerja Bhanot sacrificing her life to save hundreds of passengers onboard in 1986 has received rave reviews from the critics and audience alike. In fact the film has managed to collect Rs. 32.26 cr since its release on February 19.
