Brian Lara launches Yupp TV in India
West Indian cricketing legend, Brian Lara launched what Indians love most next to cricket – movie and television serials content – after he officially unveiled Yupp TV, which claims itself as the World’s largest Over-The-Top provider for Indian content.
The cricketer said he was a fan of Bollywood given the fact that 40 per cent of his country, Trinidad’s population was ethnic Indian and there was no way he couldn’t get influenced by Indian movies and entertainment. Mr. Lara is also associated with Yupp TV in his home country Trinidad being the brand Ambassador of TSTT, its technology partner.
Sharing the dais was Bollywood actor, Parineeti Chopra and the Telangana IT Minister K.T. Rama Rao.
Mr. Rama Rao welcomed the Yupp TV services that were in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s digital India campaign and Chief Minister, K. Chandrasekhara Rao’s digital Telangana campaign. He said 97 per cent of Yupp TV employee base operates from Hyderabad but yet it made to the top 100 companies of North America. Parineeti Chopra said youngsters like her were hooked to Internet for information and entertainment and Yupp TV was a perfect fit in their aspirations.
YuppTV an internet-based TV streaming service provider has now officially entered Indian market with 200 plus channels in 12 languages. Apart from the Live TV experience YuppTV offers Catch-Up TV technology for the first time in India whereby viewers can watch TV content of the past seven days, said Uday Reddy, founder and CEO.
Viewers will also have access to more than 5,000 movies and hundreds of TV Shows on their TV at the click of a button. As part of the Video-On-Demand (VOD) service, YuppTV has over 25,000 hours of video content in its catalogue and 2500 hours more is added every day.
The service is accessible on multiple internet enabled devices – Smart TVs, Smart phones, Tablets and also on the Web. YuppTV app can be downloaded on any Android & iOS devices and it promises to provide buffer-less viewing experience even on 2G connections, Mr. Reddy said.
