Centre Releases Rs 1976 Crore To Andhra Pradesh Government

On Thursday, the union govt. released Rs 1,976 Cr to address the financial issues of the cash crunch Andhra Pradesh state. Out of the total amount, Rs 1,176 Cr was granted towards compensating the revenue deficit, Rs 450 Cr was to lend a hand for the construction of Capital city Amaravati and the remaining Rs 350 Cr was towards the welfare of backward districts.

Ever since the special status movement thronged the Parliament, the Centre has hastened the process of providing Special Package to compensate for the denial of Special Category Status.

The amount sanctioned on Thursday is said to be the first draft of the special package. In few days, Centre is likely to make an official announcement regarding the total special package that AP will be receiving.
