Chandrababu Naidu launches Vidyanjali Scheme
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minsiter Nara Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated the same at Atkur Zilla Parishand High School in Unguturu mandal of Krishna district on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that bio-metric attendance or Iris system will be introduced in schools. The e-attendance will be applicable to teachers and their transfers will be based on this, he said. He said that Wi-Fi facility will be made available to the schools and colleges through Fiber grid. Digital class system will be introduced in schools, he said.
Chandrababu Naidu said that 9,500 teachers posts have been filled up so far and vacant posts will be filled up in e every May. Free bi-cycles will be given to girl students studying in IX standard, he announced.
Union HRD Minister Smirti Irani today launched Vidyanjali Scheme to boost community participation in the government schools. Speaking on the occasion, she said that 22,000 schools from 21 States are participating in the scheme.
Under the programme, volunteers including Indian diaspora, retired persons like teachers, government officials, professionals, women who at home will offer their services for co-scholastic activities for children from class I to VIII.
