Chief Minister announces Rs.6,554 crore package to Anantapur
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minsiter Nara Chandrababu Naidu has announced a Rs.6,554 crore special development package for Anantapur district on the eve of Independence Day celebrations.
Chandrababu Naidu unfurling the tri-colour at the Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy Police Training College, he apparently wanted to remove the perception that Rayalaseema was being neglected by the announcement of package. Addressing the large gathering at the Independence Day celebrations, he said that Anantapur was always close to the heart of NTR and the Rs.6,554 crore initiative will be named after him. Naidu said that a major portion of the it ie. Rs.1,764 crore will be utilized for drought proofing. The other components include Rs.2,400 crore for agriculture, Rs.1,423 crore for horticulture, Rs.775 crore for dairying, Rs.850 crore and Rs.450 crore for the Peruru and Bhairavanitippa irrigation projects respectively and Rs.450- crore for reviving and modernizing 450 tanks.
He reiterated that his vision of making the State the best in the country by 2029 and the most developed in the world by 2050 while recalling how he developed Hyderabad during his earlier stint ending 2004. He paid homage to the freedom fighters and recalled how Anantapur gave birth to some big achievers like Satya Nadella, the CEO of Microsoft.
During his address, he expressed his unhappiness over the Centre for keeping the issues like Special Category Status, funds for the new Capital City, Polavaram Irrigation Project, incentives for attracting industry and a separate railway zone. He said the Centre is not coming forward to solve the disputes between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Chandrababu Naidu said that the government will ensure that Rayalaseema region which was neglected in the Congress rule sees all round development.
