Class 7 student killed by classmate in Tamil Nadu
A Class 7 student at a government school in Tamil Nadu was killed by his classmate following a petty quarrel on Monday.
Police said the two students – both aged 13 years – of a government high school at Ammaiagara near Chinna Salem in Villupuram district picked up a quarrel during lunch break over garnering a seat in the classroom to have lunch. In a fit of rage, one of them pushed the other and the later fell on the wooden bench in the classroom.
The boy sustained severe bleeding injuries. He was rushed to a private hospital at Chinna Salem where doctors on duty referred him to Kallakuruchi Government General Hospital. However, he died on the way to the hospital.
The deceased was identified as Balamurugan of Poondi village. The minor accused also hails from the same village. The two students belonged to the same community, police said.
The Chinna Salem police registered a case against the minor accused and produced him before a juvenile court. The court sent him to an observation home in Cuddalore district.
