Dadasaheb Phalke award this year is for Manoj Kumar

The Dadasaheb Phalke Award this year has been announced for veteran actor Manoj Kumar. The Dadasaheb Phalke award is India’s highest award in cinema. This year, Kumar will be honoured for his outstanding contribution to Indian cinema over the years.

Manoj Kumar, a name best known for acting in and directing films on themes of patriotism, has been known by the more-popular epithet, ‘Bharat Kumar’. Films like Woh Kaun Thi?, Roti Kapda Aur Makan, Kranti are all gems from Kumar.

Last year, the Dadasaheb Phalke award was given to Shashi Kapoor.
