Former Tamil Nadu left-handed batsman R. Raghavan passes away
Former Tamil Nadu left-handed batsman R. Raghavan passed away here on Monday after prolonged illness. He was 82.
Representing the State side in the 50s, Raghavan played 15 matches making 384 runs with a highest score of 79. He played against visiting overseas sides such as a team from Commonwealth and represented Mambalam Mosquitos in the first division league with distinction.
Former leg-spinner ace from Tamil Nadu, V.V. Kumar said, “He batted at No 3 and played with grace and style. He was a very elegant batsman with whom I played a lot of cricket. Raghavan was a good human being.”
