India clinch U-19 Asia Cup
India beat Sri Lanka by 34 runs to win the Under-19 Asia Cup title for the third time in a row after the home side suffered a spectacular collapse, on Friday (December 23).
Chasing 274 runs to win the title, the hosts were comfortably placed at 196 for 3 by the 38th over but then lost their last seven wickets for the addition of just 43 runs as India completed their title defence successfully.
Brief scores: India U19 273/8 (Himanshu Rana 71, Shubman Gill 70; Nipun Ransika 3-50, Praveen Jayawickrama 3-53) beat Sri Lanka U19 239 (Reven Kelly 62, Kamindu Mendis 53; Abhishek Sharma 4-37, Rahul Chahar 3-22) by 34 run.
